Terms of Service

Effective date: October 26, 2026

These Terms are an agreement between you and Tanvir Mahin (“we”, “us”), the developer of Chaal. They apply to the Chaal Android app, the browser version at /play/ and this website (the “service”).

1. Accepting these Terms

By installing, opening or playing Chaal you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

2. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the age of digital consent in your country is higher.

3. Your account

• Chaal uses guest accounts: no email or password. Your account is tied to a secret token stored on your device (or browser).
• If you clear the app's data or uninstall it, you lose access to the account unless you connected Google Play Games. Premium bought in the app can be restored through Google Play.
• Losing access doesn't delete your data; see Delete your account.

4. Play fair

You agree not to:

• use chess engines, other software or another person's help during games against other people;
• use more than one account, or arrange results, to boost ratings, levels or leaderboard places or to farm gold;
• use a nickname that is offensive, hateful or sexually explicit, or that impersonates someone;
• harass other players, including by spamming friend requests or invites; or
• cheat, exploit bugs, automate the service or try to access accounts, servers or data that aren't yours.

Playing the in-game bots and using hints in bot games and puzzles is, of course, fine. If we find cheating or abuse we may correct ratings, gold, items or leaderboard entries and suspend or close the accounts involved. Found a bug or security issue? Please tell us at tanvirmahin24@gmail.com.

5. Gold and in-game items

Gold is Chaal's in-game currency, earned from lessons, puzzles, games, levels and the free daily gold, and sold in gold packs in the Android app. Gold, board themes, piece sets, XP, levels, ratings, stars and streaks (“in-game items”) exist only inside the game: you get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them; they have no real-world value, can't be exchanged for money or transferred, and are lost if your account is deleted. Purchased gold is non-refundable except where the law requires or Google Play grants a refund. We may change the game's economy and correct items credited by mistake.

6. Premium and purchases

The Android app offers, through Google Play: Premium, a one-time purchase that removes ads, gives unlimited hints in bot games, unlocks every board theme and piece set, adds 5,000 gold once per account and adds a supporter badge; and gold packs. Purchases are subject to the Google Play Terms and refund policies. Premium belongs to the Chaal account you buy it on and is restored automatically after a reinstall. If a purchase is refunded or reversed we may remove what it unlocked.

7. Ads

Without Premium you may see ads from Google (AdMob in the app, AdSense in the browser). We don't choose individual ads and aren't responsible for what they advertise. Rewarded ads are always your choice.

8. Lessons and puzzles

Chaal's lessons, art and the Haathi Dada character are ours. Puzzles come from the Lichess puzzle database, released under CC0. We try to make every lesson and puzzle correct; if you spot a mistake, please tell us.

9. The service

Chaal is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may change or remove features at any time; the service may be interrupted for maintenance or problems outside our control; restarting the server may end online games in progress; and you may need to update the app to play online.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms. You can stop playing and delete your account at any time. Sections 5, 6, 11, 12 and 13 continue to apply afterwards.

11. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Chaal is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't promise the service will always be available, error-free or secure, or that your progress and items will always be preserved.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tanvir Mahin is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, progress, items, profits or goodwill arising from your use of Chaal. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law or affects your rights as a consumer.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country.

14. Changes

We'll post updates on this page and change the date above; for significant changes we'll tell you in the game. Playing after changes take effect means you accept them.
